J.J. JOHNS

Born and raised in Zaandam,
only a few miles away from Amsterdam,
JJ proved to be made for the music scene.
At age 14 he already performed with
the Blue Rocking Strings,
mainly at charity events.

Only 16 years old,
he became one of
the founding members of The Devotions and toured Holland,
Germany and Belgium and recorded their first 45šs.

After a few members were drafted,
the band broke up and JJ kept himself
alive playing for various local bands,
experimenting various music-styles.

But finally JJ returned to his roots; Country Music.
Now on stage his reportoire
streches from the early songs of
Hank Williams and Bob Wills' western swing,
via songs of George Jones,
Merle Haggard and George Strait to
todays countrymusic.

His breakthrough came
when he was invited to come to
the United States to record a CD.
For the recording of this CD 'Nothin' Wrong With Me'
he was coupled with
veteran producer/songwriter/multy-instrumentalist Scott Mathews.
Scott worked with all time greats as Johnny Cash,
Glen Campbell, John Lee Hooker and Roy Orbison.

Scott Mathews wrote two songs for the CD,
including the titel song wich he co-wrote with
Al Anderson, whom already had written hitsongs for
people like Tracy Byrd and Diamond Rio.

The recording took place at the studiošs of Ex'pression,
Center of New Media in Emeryville California.

The growing friendship and respect
between JJ and Scott resulted in a sparkling,
almost sturdy master piece.

Already the CD hass been nominated for best country CD in Belgium.
